Schauer Landscaping was founded in 1947 by Jack Schauer as primarily a sodding and seeding company. During the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s he provided these services to Moraine Country Club and NCR golf courses and the General Electric Building in Dayton, installed many athletic fields for local high schools and universities, and sodded Crosley Field in Cincinnati - the original home of the Cincinnati Reds. As Dayton began expanding in the 1950s and new housing developments were being built in Kettering and surrounding areas, Schauer expanded his business to include landscaping services along with sodding and seeding.
In 1980 Schauer Landscaping moved to its present location on Clyo Road; and by then, he had expanded Schauer Landscaping's services to include not only custom Landscape Design, installation and sodding, but also: residential and commercial maintenance - installation of paver patios, walks and retaining walls - mulch - delivery snow removal - Christmas Trees and greenery, both plain and flocked.
Over the years one thing has remained the same at Schauer's - quality work using top-grade plants and materials, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, attention to detail, and great customer service.
