We are an independently owned, full service funeral home that provides traditional funeral services as well as cremation services, pre-arranged funeral plans and services to the Amish community. All of our services may be tailored to meet your familys needs and customs and we are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We are committed to providing you with unparalleled service and attention.
Our newly remodeled funeral home is spacious and comfortable, providing a home like setting for the families we serve and their guests. We are located in the beautiful village of Sugarcreek, Ohio and conveniently located to serve Tuscarawas and Eastern Holmes Counties.

On May 18, 2008, owner and president Robert L. Smith, who has owned and operated Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek since 1983, purchased the former Butler-Varns Funeral Home, also in Sugarcreek and began operating as Smith-Varns Funeral Home. Lee and Cindy Varns also purchased their former funeral home in 1983 and will continue serving the community as funeral directors.
