Dr. Matt was born in Middletown, Ohio in 1972. He attended Rosedale and John XXIII Elementary Schools, and graduated from Middletown High School in 1991. While at MHS he was on the swim team and graduated in the top five of his class.

After high school he went to college and graduated from Indiana University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Following college he was accepted to I.U. School of Dentistry. He graduated from dental school, with honors, in May of 2000. Dr. Matt was in the top five of his dental school class of 100 students. Furthermore, as a result of outstanding academic achievement, he was inducted into OKU national honorary dental society. He was accepted into an orthodontic residency at Indiana University School of Dentistry. During his residency he also served as a clinical and lab instructor to dental students. With academic and clinical excellence, he finished his residency and received a Master of Science degree in May of 2002.
Dr. Matt is a member of the: American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, World Federation of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Matt knows that there are life-long benefits to having a beautiful and healthy smile. Using state-of-the-art technology, methodology and equipment, he is able to provide quality treatment to people of all ages. Early treatment in children is emphasized in order to ensure that young teeth and jaws develop correctly and to minimize the need for tooth extractions whenever possible. To keep abreast of the latest developments in orthodontic care, Dr. Matt attends continuing education courses on an ongoing basis far beyond the state requirements.
