A lot could be improved on call centers that are supposed to offer assistance to customers. After going through a series of questions and button pushing to find the assistance youre looking for, youre often greeted with ingenuous customer service representatives who offer canned responses to your questions.

OUR COMPANY'S HISTORY
The torch of the Pretorius Coleman Insurance Agency has past down to its third generation of the Pretorius family. This family has strong roots in the Dover/New Philadelphia community, not only business wise, but as active citizens.
Walter F. Pretorius, Sr., who first started the agency in 1936, initially began representing the The Travelers Insurance Company as an independent agent.

Walter and his wife raised three children and were members of the Grace Lutheran Church. He was also on the founding boards of Trumpet in the Land, Dover Library, and Tuscarawas Philharmonic. Walter was also an active member of the local Kiwanis club.

After serving in the army, Calvin C. Pretorius, Sr. joined his father in the family business in 1957. At that time, they expanded their offering of insurance companies to provide better savings to their customers by offering them choices. Over the years this proved to be a sound philosophy.

Calvin and his wife raised eight children and were members of the Trinity Episcopal Church. He was an active member of the Tuscarawas Philharmonic and Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Calvin was president of Dover Rotary Club and Trumpet in the Land.

Miriam K. Pretorius, who is the current owner of the agency, started working in the family business after graduating from the University of Akron. She became owner in 1997.

Miriam raised three children in the Dover/New Philadelphia area. Just as her father and grandfather, she is an active member of the community, including her membership to the Trinity Episcopal Church, Dover Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and board member of the annual outdoor production of Trumpet in the Land.

There are some people who believe that all insurance providers are the same, and that captive agents or telephone agents from individual insurance companies are the only source of obtaining insurance. This is a misconception.

In an unfortunate event where you would need to file a claim, Pretorius Coleman can contact the insurance company, help you fill out claim forms, initiate the claim process, advise you on the progress of your claim, and work closely with the insurance company to make sure you get a prompt and fair settlement of a valid claim.
