Women’s Alliance for Recovery Services, Inc.’s vision is that all the women of Ohio become free of addictions and violence to lead a happy, healthy and productive life surrounded by their loved ones.
To help women whose lives have been affected/devastated by alcohol and other drug abuse, find treatment as well as other resources that meet their needs for recovery.
To educate substance abusing women and their significant others about a healthier way to deal with life’s difficulties.
To advocate for women and women’s issues related to substance abuse, by increasing the understanding of trauma, and by reducing barriers to access treatment such as stigma.
Helping Women Find Solutions
Alcoholism and other drug dependencies do not have a single cause- they are primary illnesses which are chronic, progressive, and too often fatal. They affect all aspects of a womans social and family relationships.
Women’s Alliance for Recovery Services takes a holistic approach that concerns itself with all aspects of a woman’s condition, including physical, emotional, spiritual, social, cultural, and economic factors.
This approach recognizes that for a successful recovery, women need assistance in other areas of concern, such as childcare, medical services, prenatal care, protection from domestic violence, other types of abuse, and adequate housing.
