Most people never imagine needing our services until theres been a dramatic change in their life or that of a loved one. Our goal is to give you back some, or most, of what function youve lost or to make life a little safer for you or those around you. These changes have either come on slowly or theyve happened pretty quickly. Regardless, someone has recognized this change and has suggested us or someone like us to provide some help.
This is an old field; in one form or another, people like us have existed for centuries providing devices to assist others with the task of getting on with their lives. They developed creative ways to help people use their limbs again or to even replace missing limbs.
Since the human form has changed very little over the last few thousand years, the basic concepts of what we do has changed very little. Medical science is able to treat people like never before; so when you are referred to us there is a genuine need. The braces and artificial limbs of your grand parents day are rarely seen anymore. Technological advances in plastics, metals and microprocessors have put cutting edge materials at our disposal to make these devices lighter, safer and more efficient. No, this isnt rocket-science, but neither is it the basement workshop of yesteryear.
