Larry W Garner Sr., CAI of Carrollton, Ohio was elected director of the National Auctioneers Association at the 1995 Niagara Falls Convention. Larry graduated from Carrollton High School in 1958. That same year, he completed his studies at Reppert School of Auctioneering. He completed training and scholastic requirements and received his real estate license in 1972, and became a broker in 1978. Larry owns and operates Garner Auctioneers, L.L.C. in Carrollton, Oh. He received his CAI designation in 1982. Larry has been active in the Ohio Auctioneers Association for many years, serving as a board member from 1982 to 1984 and was president in 1989. He was appointed in 1989 by the governor to the Ohio Auctioneers Commission and was elected chairman in 1991. He has served as vice president of the National Auctioneers License Law Official Association. Larry served on the NAA Public Relations Committee, the Technology Committee, and Membership Committee. In 1996, Larry became an instructor at Reppert School of Auctioneering where he currently teaches a course on Legally Selling Firearms at Auction. In November of 2006, he was elected County Commissioner taking office January 1, 2007. He was inducted in the Ohio Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame.
To date, the firm has sold approximately 130,000 firearms consigned by sellers from OH, PA, NY, NJ, MD, NC, SC, FL, GA, WV, TN, KY, MI, IN, IL, SD, WI, CA, & MN. Larry regularly conducts seminars on Legally Selling Firearms at Auction and building a successful consignment auction business for state and national auctioneer associations and other groups. Also, he is approved by the Northern Ohio Bankruptcy Court.
Larry and his wife, Kay, have three children and four grandchildren. They reside on 157 acres east of Carrollton, OH, where they have built a 12,000 sq ft auction center which includes a 900 sq. ft. concrete vault with 5 acres of display and parking area.
