In 1926 one year after the marrage of my parents Josephine Merola and Joseph F. Rossi Sr. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Niles they founded the Joseph Rossi Funeral Home on Erie St. At that time the funeral home consisted of only an embalming and casket room. Visitations were held at the deceased residence. In 1932 the business relocated to our current location at 457 Robbins Ave. Three years later an addition was added to the building for visitation. In 1948, my sister Marie became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. In 1953 at the age of 50 my father passed away from a sudden heart attack. The business continued with my mother, my sister, and her husband George. In 1966 a major addition to our building was completed, as we added a large visitation room, new restrooms, offices and secondary visitation room. In 1969, I became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Today my son's Joseph F. Rossi III and Thomas J. Rossi are associated with me as they became licensed in 2000. Through the years our family's philosophy is something that has never changed, "serving your family as family." We have and will always strive to offer the best quality service and price our family's have come to expect.
