JFPTechnical Services, Inc.
JFP Technical Services, Inc. is an independent failure analysis materials and metallurgical laboratory providing consulting, testing, and expert testimony for product development and process control. In operation since 1991, JFP Technical Services had offered its failure analysis, investigative, and laboratory services to a wide range of companies, in both private and government sectors.
As a metallurgical laboratory services company, the JFP offersSEM Services, Welded Tube Expertise, Metallurgical Consulting, Material Evaluation, and Mechanical Testing.
JFP Technical Services, Inc. has just added the capacity to test most materials with a nondestructive and portable X-ray flourescent (XRF) materials analyzer, allowing this testing to be performed at your location or in our lab, and to safely test your valuable products without any damage. This is fast, accurate, affordable, highly mobile and unobtrusive chemical analysis test for most materials. We can go to your operations and run the tests unobtrusively so you'll barely notice we have been there. Contact us for more details."
We analyze ferrous and nonferrous metals, plastics, rubber, fiberglass and electronic components for designers, engineers and manufacturers. Our services include fixturing, physical testing, photography and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
This NEW chemical analyzer allows JFP Technical to perform many types of analysis on materials, including the following tests:
Positive Material Identification (PMI) - to verify a material to be used or identify an unknown material, and also for the sorting of mixed materials
RoHS compliance screening tests - Testing for the amount of Cadmium, Mercury, Lead, Chromium and Bromine in your products, so as to verify compliance to the new European Union (EU) requirements. This test method also meets the "Due Diligence" requirement for compliance, when using purchased materials and components in your products.
JPF Technical Services Principlas
John Paciorek and James Farroni, the principals of JFP Technical Services, Inc., each provide over 25 years experience in materials testing and failure analysis requiring meticulous documentation. While there is considerable overlap and mutual support, each has developed areas of specialization to ensure a broad base of expertise in metallic, organic and silicon materials.
John Paciorek, Metallurgist P.E., is a steel man from the days before Republic Steel and Jones & Laughlin became LTV Steel.
This background with the integrated mills means that if it has anything to do with steel: melting, alloying, casting, rolling, forming, roll forming, tube making, drawing, fabricating, cutting, annealing, hardening, normalizing; he's seen it, tested it, and evaluated it sometime, any way you can imagine.
Naturally, he's become familiar with iron and nonferrous metals like aluminum, brass and inconel as well. And he further sharpened his edge working on carbide and steel cutting tools. Small wonder that companies concerned with manufacturing processes and materials call JFP Technical Services. (see Articles)
James Farroni has extensive experience with medical products and electronic components, as well as metallurgical testing and manufacturing processes. He is skilled at devising jigs and fixtures that model operational stresses and strains.
Precious Metal Assay Screening - to determine the amount of a precious metal (Gold, Silver, Platinum, etc.) in an item. This test will help establish a value during an appraisal or to verify the quality of materials purchased.
Lead testing - testing for the presence of Lead and other hazardous materials in the following consumer products: toys, jewelry, antiques, dishware, glassware, pewter, etc. This testing will insure the safety and health of children and adults.
In devising tests for materials, care must be taken to preserve the essence of the problem under investigation. The attention given to these details ensures the integrity of the whole testing and evaluation process. Results often improve product quality and find potential cost savings.
JFP Technical Services provide expert failure analysis services to determine the cause of the failure and can recommend corrective actions to reduce the chance of future failures! As an independent laboratory, we can provide evaluation for first piece and random sample inspection and testing. JFP Technical Services provides expert services for special projects ranging from product development and forensic investigations to manufacturing engineering.
