In our hard clay soils, the only way you have a chance to get your turf to extend it's roots as deep as possible into the ground is with a little help - Hollow Tine Core Aeration! Be sure to go at least two directions for best results. Core Aeration should be done to everyone's lawn at least once or twice a year!

Late Season High Nitrogen Fertilizer Sale

It's the most important fertilizaton of the year. Call your Green Velvet Sales Representive for Special Fertilizer Sale Pricing
The single most important fertilizaton application that you can make to your lawn is here. "Late Season" fertilization, applied at the right time of the fall, will provide your turf with the food it needs to grow a fantastic root system over the winter months. But timing is the key - apply too soon and all you get is shoot growth and more grass to mow, apply too late and the plant is too dormant to take advantage of the fertilizer. For best results, apply our Green Velvet ate Season 33-0-3 or 46-0-0 fertilizer in November when grass is still green and you have mowed for the last time of the year.

In the Danger Zone for Snow Mold
This year the drought has weakened turf, making it even more susceptible to snow mold. A long winter of snow cover can be devastating to your course and cost a lot in time and money to repair. Pink snow mold can affect turf as early as fall. Even though its called snow mold, it doesnt need snow to occur. Snow molds are caused by low temperature tolerant fungi able to grow in temperatures at or below 0° C. In cool, damp periods of the year, small water soaked patches of brown or yellow brown grass appear particularly on Poa annua. After snow melt in the spring, patches may turn pink on exposure to light. Gray snow mold is evident after snow melt and is light brown, gray or straw colored.
Green Velvets Power Combo
Green Velvet is here to help. This year, weve assembled a powerful group of fungicides to give you a total solution no matter what your budget.
