Sharon Hill Daycare Mission Statement
The mission of Sharon Hill Daycare and Preschool is to work cooperatively with parents to enrich the lives of the children entrusted in our care.
Sharon Hill Daycare Philosophy
We believe in the holistic view, man, and in this setting, a child, are made up of many parts. The child is a social, physical, cognitive, emotional being with needs as such. As the child grows and develops, his/her needs in all of these areas change and we attempt to meet these needs by:
Helping the child adjust to a group situation. This includes teaching self- control, appropriate communication, and effective interaction.
Helping the child develop and improve motor skills and coordination by introducing fine and gross motor activities daily.
Helping the child grasp pre-reading and pre-math concepts through teacher prepared lesson plans.
Helping develop positive self-esteem by providing numerous activities designed to help the child know success, and frequent verbal/nonverbal communication which tells the child they are special, good and important.
These needs are met in a fun, loving, and safe environment under the guidance of teachers who are caring and well trained in education and child development. We also expose the children to nature and music; helping to make them aware and appreciative of the world around them.
As a privately owned Cincinnati Daycare and Preschool facility, we have a personal commitment to quality and wish to provide the best possible care for children. Through a combination of free play and structured activities, independent and teacher directed activities, and repeated opportunities for decision-making, we are confident the children will leave here with a positive attitude toward school for years to come.
Finally, we promote the holistic view that man (and child) is more than the sum of all his parts. Each person is unique and special. All children deserve respect and acceptance. As J.W. Whitehead said, “Children are the living messages we send to a time we cannot see.”
