A Nephrologist is an Internal Medicine physician with additional training in diseases of the kidney and high blood pressure. This includes the treatment of acute and chronic renal failure, fluid, electrolyte and acid-base disorders, as well as, the provision of dialysis and the care of kidney transplants.
Dr. Sobel graduated from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy while specializing in Medicinal Chemistry. He was awarded the annual Pharmacognosy Award for his outstanding academic achievement in the division of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. He received his medical degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Dr. Sobel completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, an affiliate teaching hospital of the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Nephrology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Sobel is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He recently relocated to central Ohio from southwest Florida, where the dialysis unit in which he was director, was awarded the prestigious John Cunio, M.D. Memorial Award for the best patient outcomes in dialysis for the state of Florida. Dr. Sobel and his wife Janice have 3 sons.
Dr Sreedevi is a graduate of Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool,A.P., India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Nephrology at the New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. She was a recipient of the Naami Greifer Weiss Fellowship Award presented by the National Kidney Foundation in 2000 as well as the Research and Clinical Fellowship Award presented by the Kidney & Urology Foundation of America in 2001. Dr. Sreedevi is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr Sreedevi and her husband Krishna have 2 daughters.
