PowerPure Highlight of the Month
Congratulations to the LaSalle Bank Midwest Headquarters. This Detroit facility recently achieved Platinum LEED certification making it the first existing building in Michigan to achieve a U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) designation. LaSalle's building earned Platinum-level certification, the highest honor.

LaSalle has relied on the Chardon PowerPure chemical-free water treatment system for over four years to treat both their icing system and cooling pond. The PowerPure system fits well with LaSalle’s goal to utilize green and sustainable solutions and contributed 15 essential LEED points to LaSalle's quest for Platinum certification.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. Chemical-free water treatment can contribute up to several points to LEED certification.
