Christmas! Yes, we are thinking about Christmas as summer wanes and gives way to fall! You’ve heard of “Christmas in July” at your favorite retail store. At Southgate we’re thinking of the meaning of Christmas — incarnation. We are thinking about God’s call to have us live out His strategy for Christmas all year long. He moved into our neighborhood. He made His presence known with words and works. We are adopting God’s strategy for living and pitching our tents more intentionally in the spaces God has placed us to live. Christmas is for living ... all year long. The great privilege in life is to have Emmanuel (God with us) live out through us where we are! So bring it on! Let’s celebrate Christmas all year long with living that incarnates the presence of Christ extended to where we live and work and play. Could it ever be said of us, ‘for us to live is Christ?
