Family Planning Services of Lorain County strengthens our community by promoting the health of women and families.
Family Planning Services of Lorain County has been serving Lorain County women for over 30 years. The agency grew from a recognized need that many women did not have access to quality, affordable reproductive health care. As a non-profit health care agency, our goal is to provide quality medical and educational services in the areas of reproductive health and family planning.
The agency is financially supported by federal funding through The Center for Community Solutions and by private funding through the United Way of Greater Lorain County, foundation grants, individual donors, and patient fees.
Who We Are:
Family Planning Services operates Women's Reproductive Health Care Clinics and an Education Center.
Our clinic serves all women of reproductive age regardless of their ability to pay.
We provide health care including pap smears, pelvic exams, and birth control at low-cost or no cost.
Nobody is ever refused services due to inability to pay.
We are the only organization in all of Lorain County making this commitment to women's health.
We believe that family planning is about more than birth control alone. That is why we take a holistic approach to health education by providing programs on a variety of topics ranging from "Puberty and Adolescent Development" to "Osteoporosis Prevention and Education." We present to groups or one-on-one upon request to meet the needs of all members of our community. To request a program please call us (440-322-7526) and ask to speak to our Health Educator.
We also maintain a Resource Center at our Elyria site containing pamphlets, videos, books, and curricula on a wide range of health issues. The Center is open to the public by appointment. Our materials are available for loan with no money down.
