THE DOCTORS WHO SPECIALIZE IN YOU!
Please review our services and call or email us for more information about how we can serve your medical needs.
South Russell Family Practice is your medical home, dedicated to providing acute, chronic, and preventative healthcare of the highest quality to people of all ages in your own community. Our skilled physicians provide highly accessible primary care in the areas of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Sports Medicine, Gynecology, Minor Office Surgery, and Psychosocial Medicine. Although we can meet over 90% of your healthcare needs, we maintain excellent working relationships with specialists in various fields, who can provide expert consultation when the need arises. Many of the specialists we work with maintain offices in our building so you can obtain the care you need close to home. We look forward to partnering with you in caring for you and your family.
What Sets Us ApartFamily Medicine is a specialty that provides continous and comprehensive healthcare to people of all ages. The specialty of Family Medicine is centered on lasting, caring patient-physician relationships. The Board-Certified Family Physician of today has a stronger, more rigorous training than the "GP" of old--specifically a required three-year residency after medical school, a Board Certification Exam, and a Recertification exam every 7 years.
As a patient-centered medical home, we are a Family Practice specially focused on you and your relationship with your doctor. Our practice works hard to: empower you to be a partner in your healthcare, be highly accessible to you and your family, coordinate the care you receive with specialists, and continuously improve our practice. We see our patients as people like us, with lives and families and many, multi-faceted health concerns. Concentrating on your whole person, we want to work with you to create a healthy life.
All the doctors have served as Chief Resident or Faculty Members of their respective Residency training programs: Dr. Rood for the Department of Family Medicine of University Hospitals of Cleveland, Dr. Garren-Hudson at the Cleveland Clinic Health System Fairview General Hospital, and Dr. Kale at Case Western Reserve University - University Hospitals of Cleveland. Drs. Rood and Kale are Senior Clinical Instructors at Case School of Medicine and Dr. Rood is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, indicating post-residency training and experience above the norm. All the physicians are actively involved in teaching medical students, and Dr. Rood was featured in the March 20, 1995 issue of US News and World Report, highlighting his participation in a unique program to educate future family physicians. Dr. Rood was honored as the Raymond Kiwala, MD Teacher of the Year at the Case Department of Family Medicine in May 2003, and Dr. Kale was selected by Cleveland Magazine as a "Top Doc" for 2008. South Russell Family Practice was honored as the Raymond Kiwala, MD Teaching Practice of the Year in May 2004.
This practice follows a strict policy of patient confidentiality, and therefore cannot release information to others, even other family members, without your permission. Although adolescents are strongly encouraged to discuss health issues with their parents, we also respect their confidentiality.
American women are 4 to 6 times more likely to die of heart disease than of breast cancer. Make "heart health" a habit.
