The award recognizes schools that are academically superior and that serve as models for other schools throughout the nation. Please see the 2008 Blue Ribbon Schools in Ohio.

Dedicated to Service- Students partake in numerous service activities throughout the year. The annual food drive takes place every November and items are delivered to local food banks and missions. We are called to help those who are less fortunate than us.

Viking Cafe - Students are nominated by the classroom teachers and invited to join both Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Wolf at the Viking Cafe on Thursday afternoons. Reserved seating in McGraw Hall is just one of the many "perks" associated with our special luncheons.

Sts. Winning Science Olympiad Team. The Sts. Joseph and John School Science Olympiad Team competes each year. The team, comprised of sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, have scored within the top ten percent each year. Our teams placed fourth and fifth out of fourteen teams and brought home 13 medals and 12 ribbons from the 20 competitive events. These students worked on their individual events with the help of parent coaches who volunteered to direct them along with faculty advisors. See more pictures in the Science Olympiad Team photo gallery.

Sts. Joseph and John School Academic Team
The Sts. Joseph and John School Academic Team set a new record by being the first team to win the "Grand Championship" five years in a row at the St. Edward's High School Classroom of Champions Competition. This has never been done since the competition started. The school is also the only school to have won the title five times in those seventeen years. These titles have been won with different team members each year! The team continued the outstanding academic accomplishment experienced by the school teams competing before them. Congratulations on a job well done!!

Sts. Joseph and John School Sports Program
The students at Sts. Joseph and John School do not only excel in academics, but in athletics as well. The class of 2009 brought home five City Championships in girls volleyball, soccer, basketball and boys basketball. Students also participate in football and cross country.

SAINTS JOSEPH AND JOHN SCHOOL GOES TO " WAR "
Before visions of the Crusades come to mind, don't be fooled, this war had only winners and a message of faith and hope. This war was forged out of human compassion and love. The students of Sts. Joseph and John School have rallied around a former student who was stricken with cancer. Sarah Cahal, a former student at Sts. Joseph and John, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer only months into her junior year at St. Joseph's Academy. The burden of medical bills was piling up on the Cahal family, as Sarah had to be flown to Houston, Texas for special treatment. So, the students of Sts. Joseph and John decided to lend a helping hand. The school held a "Penny Wars" to help raise money for the Cahal family.

The idea was for the students to bring in coins from home to help support the cause. The outpouring of generosity was inspiring. After one week of collecting coins the final tally turned out to be over $10,000. That money went directly to the Cahal family and hopefully will relieve some of the burden of high medical expenses. The students of Sts. Joseph and John School have shown, through their generosity, that not all wars have casualties and that human compassion is alive and well in Strongsville.
