Bounce® Protection was designed to provide our customers with peace of mind in case of an emergency. For many of our customers, this is a valued safety net offering flexibility and protection from the potential embarrassment of insufficient funds and the associated merchant fees.
However, because of the change in government regulations, the automatic Bounce® Protection Service you currently have on your account, covering everyday debit card purchases and ATM transactions, will be discontinued as of August 15*.
The choice is yours. If you want to keep this service available to you in case of an emergency, you will need to specifically request that it be continued on your account. You can make that request in a number of ways. You may call your local branch and let us know that you wish to opt in. You may also print out the ATM Debit card opt-in form found here. Fill it out and either mail it to The Milton Bank, PO Box 268, Wellston, OH 45692; fax it to 740-384-2488; or drop it off at your nearest branch.You may also email us at direct@themiltonbank.com and request that a Milton Bank representative call you. Please put opt in in the subject line and include your name and phone number in the email.**
*The effective date of the change is August 15, 2010 for accounts opened before July 1, 2010. For accounts opened after July 1, 2010, we will not authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions without account holder consent. An overdraft (OD) fee or insufficient funds (NSF) fee of up to $25.00 will be charged for covering overdrafts that result in a negative balance at the end of the day. Overdrafts may be created by check, ACH, online banking transactions, phone transactions or other electronic means. Recurring debit card transactions (payments that are set up to bill and pay automatically), such as an automatic draft from your health club or insurance company, may continue to be covered by your overdraft service. Once an overdraft has occurred you are required to bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days. We reserve the right not to pay if your account is not in good standing. **Email is not secure. Please do not send social security numbers or account numbers via email.
