The Spring Mill Furniture Barn was founded and restored by Ned & Cecelia Stober. The 15,000 square foot beautiful brick barn was built by a wealthy industrialist G.W. Henne in 1916 as a showplace and a home for his prize dairy herd and horse farm. The farm was lost in the Great Depression and changed hands several times over the years. The last cows were milked in this barn in the summer of 1956 and then it stood vacant for several years.
The all brick barn was opened for business in 1964. The renovation was named one of the top 24 restoration projects in Ohio. “Mom and Dad had a habit of investing in real estate. Before tackling the barn, they owned and operated the Shelby Chair Company where they manufactured upholstered furniture for 16 years. They knew this barn would make a great furniture store," said Spring Mill Furniture Barn's President Rod Stober. In 2006, the barn was named 'Barn of the Year' by the Friends of Ohio Barns Association.
