Turning 16 and getting your driver's license is a rite of passage for many. With that comes a lot of responsibility and the need to understand not only the rules of the road from a legal perspective, but also situational rules. Tom's Superior Driving School will help teach you or your new driver these things.
Temporary Driving Permit:
At 15 1/2 you have the right to apply for your temporary driving permit, which will allow you to drive and learn, but has restrictions with it. To get the permit you will need:
Social Security Card
Parent or Guardian to Sign
$22 fee for the Temporary Driver's Permit Packet (Packet & Fees Information)
Temporary Permit Restrictions: (Check with your local BMV for up to date laws!)
Must be accompanied by a licensed parent, guardian, or commercial instructor who is 21
No driving permitted between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Valid one year from purchase
Driver's License Information:
Initial license for new drivers is probationary for ages 16-17; expires on 21st birthday. Drug or alcohol offenses may cause postponement of new driver's license eligibility. Valid for four years; expires on licensee's birthday. Licenses obtainable from Registrar of Motor Vehicles or local deputy registrars. Certified birth certificate and social security card or other acceptable documentation required for issuance. Written exam, laws, road sign test and driving and maneuverability test required for original license. Road test may be waived for new residents with valid unexpired out-of-state driver's license. Vision screening required for original license. Regular driver's license renewal must be made in person. Includes a vision screening; a written exam and driving test if license is expired for more than 6 months. License renewal permitted anytime or through deputy registrar. Vision requirements must be met and documented. Six Months Restricted License: May be issued to any person otherwise qualified who is or has been subject to conditions resulting in episodic impairment or loss of muscular control and whose condition, in the opinion of the registrar, is dormant or under effective medical control to allow the safe operation of a motor vehicle. Registrar will require statement from physician.

The classroom is located at 7390 Liberty One Drive in Liberty Township (behind the Kroger Marketplace).
In total there are 24 hours of classroom training. Driving Lessons consist of four 2- hour one-on-one sessions .
