Welcome to our corner of the World-Wide Inter-Web … In no way do we expect this website to tell you everything there is to know about us but our hope is that it will give you an idea and you will want to stop by and hang out with us to find out more. Check it out and let us know what you think.
Im glad youre here and I hope to see you at Eastside sometime soon.
What are we about?
As followers of Jesus we are all about 4 key things at Eastside: 1. Loving God and loving one another as our Father loves us. 2. Building strong relationships with believers and non-believers alike. 3. Making a difference in peoples lives in a real and meaningful way. 4. Communicating spiritual truth with cultural relevance.
What we believe:
We believe that we are called to follow in the footsteps and direction set for us by our Savior, Jesus Christ. (1 John 2:6)
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. Infallible. Inerrant. God-Breathed. It serves as the final authority for us in all matters. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe that God eternally exists in three eternal persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
We believe that Jesus became man without ceasing to be God and that He died on a cross for our redemption. (1 Peter 2:21-25)
We believe that the Holy Spirit resides within us serving as our counselor, teacher, comforter, power and truth. Through the Holy Spirit the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are built into our lives. (Galatians 5:22-23)
We believe that salvation is offered freely to all through Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed on our behalf and made sure by His resurrection from the dead. (1 Peter 1:1819)
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. We are saved by the atoning Blood of Jesus Christ when we repent of our sins, accept His forgiveness, and begin a personal relationship with Him. Baptism declares a public confession of an inward profession of faith. The act of baptism symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a simple act of obedience to the Lord when we follow through and commit ourselves to do it for Him. It has a symbolic connotation of cleansing, dying to the old life, and allegiance to the new life with a new Master. (Ephesians 2:810; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:1819; Acts 10:48; Rom 6:3; 1 Cor 12:13; Gal 3:27; Acts 2:38-41). Repentance of sin and faith in Jesus are the marks of a Christian. And all Christians are commanded to be baptized in order to identify themselves with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Only someone who has truly accepted Christ into their heart should be baptized.
Jason Rehmel | Lead Pastor 513.831.4373×10 Jason@myeastside.cc
I love God and I love people. I also love being a pastor though I think I am the unlikeliest one you will ever meet. Ive been told I look more like a biker, a bouncer, or Waylon Jennings than a pastor. Look for me if you come to visit us! I love meeting new people and hanging out.
I have an amazing wife who is more than I could have ever hoped for or deserved!! And we have 2 of the worlds most amazing kids. Being a father and husband are my most favoritest things in the world.
If you are someone who has had a terrible experience(s) at a church or churches Id love for you to stop by some weekend and give it one more shot with us. Whether you have felt judged, or dismissed, or unwanted wherever it has been this place is different. Take it from the former church-outsider-turned-pastor Eastside is the place you can come as you are. I look forward to meeting you! My Life Verse: I John 2:6
Jeff Ginn | Community/Teaching Pastor 513.831.4373×21 jeff@myeastside.cc
My name is Jeff. I love God. I love my wife. I love my two little girls. I love reading the Bible. I love helping people take the next step in their spiritual journey. I love watching Ohio State football games. And I love using really long descriptive sentences about everything other than myself. My Life Verse: 2 Thessalonians 3:5
Travis Whalen | Discipleship/Teaching Pastor 513.831.4373×10 travis@myeastside.cc
I have a wife named Natalie who is a far better person than I am and a son named Parker, who is way cuter than me. I like to think that by combining their goodness and cuteness with my wit and charm that we become an unstoppable force. I do this job because I believe in the gospel, I think that it is real, breathing and active. I believe the gospel can and will change the world, as it’s already been doing since long before you or I took even our first breath. I believe that the gospel lives inside of us just like a breath in our lungs and that we have the opportunity to give it away to broken and suffocating society. Throughout the years I have been given opportunities to communicate this truth to lots of different people in lots of different places… from the west coast to the Irish sea and several places in between. I’m stoked about where my family and I have been, but most of all I’m stoked about where we are going and what God is teaching us. God does cool things and my prayer is that through our community you will see that. My Life Verse: I Colossians 1
Brandt Wilson | Family Ministry Pastor 513.831.4373×13 brandt@myeastside.cc
My beautiful wife Jessica and I have been married five and a half years. We were married in Vegas but not by Elvis. We have 1 beautiful daughter, Campbell, and a golden retriever, Hurley. I loveFantasy Baseball, setting the DVR, the Kentucky Wildcats (editorial post: BOOOOO!!), playing the Wii, watching Lost, and listening to Punk Rock. My motto: Live every week like its shark week. My Life Verse: Philippians 4:4-7
Shane Hively | Student Pastor 513-831-4373×33 shane@myeastside.cc
I grew up in Springfield, Ohio. For college, I headed down to the Nati for 4 years at Cincinnati Bible College. The start of my junior year of college I met Colleen. Love at first sight! We were married two years after our first date. We have been able to travel all over the US and mentor 100s of teenagers. Col & I lived in Vegas for 2 years where God really solidified our marriage. Each week we were able to minister to over 350 6th to 8th graders. We also met some of the coolest people in the world and we are blessed that we can call them friends! I am so glad for my junior year in high school when I listened to Gods calling on my life. Its amazing to see where God has taken me. I have had the opportunity to work in churches in Indianapolis, southern Indiana, Springfield, and even Las Vegas.
Having kids has been one of the most amazing things to happen to me we have a daughter, Caden, and 2 sons, Carson, and our newest addition Shepherd. I love being a dad! My Life Verse: 1 Timothy 1:12-17
Nancy Penningtion | Executive Assistant 513.831.4373×10 nancy@myeastside.cc
My husband, Tom, and I visited Eastside in March of 2004, on the invitation of a friend. We thought, what can it hurt? It was life changing! Since then we have grown so much in our relationship with God, both as individuals and as a couple, and we have been blessed with a truly amazing church family.
I joined the Eastside staff in March of 2006 as the Executive Assistant, sometimes referred to as the office mom or the enforcer (Im sure there are a few other names Im not aware of.) I love my job and the people that I work with. If there is anything I can do to assist you in your journey, please call me at 831-4373 X10. I would love to talk with you. My Life Verse: Matthew 11:29
Tess Bell | Coffee Bar Manager tess@myeastside.cc
Some may refer to me as Tess the Mess or Serious Tess! I do have a sense of humorreally. On the weekends, you will probably see me hanging out around the coffee bar. Please excuse the coffee grounds and whip cream but that is the nature of the business Apart from that, I truly enjoy serving people and view the coffee bar as a ministry not just filling up lattes though we do make really good lattes! My Life Verse: Lamentations 3:21-24
Cameron Kelly | Facility Manager 513.831.4373×16 cameron@myeastside.cc
Cameron Kelley left the corporate world in 2007 after a 12 year career in the auto industry as a Manufacturing and Test Engineer. He has been happily married since 2000 and has two daughters. He loves the fact that he can serve God every day with his technical abilities and has a knack for getting the best deal around for whatever the church may need (hes pretty much the tightest person weve EVER met). My Life Verse: Proverbs 6:5
Michael Lee | Facility Associate mike@myeastside.cc
Mike was born in Philadelphia and joined the Army reserves in 1982. In 1985 he went into full time active duty for over 7 years traveling around the country and world. Mike is a divorced father of 3. Mike came to Eastside as part of an internship program. I love this place, the staff, and those that attend here. For me it is one of the best jobs I have ever had. How does Mike rank the important things in his life? God, family, Philly Cheese Steaks, movies, fishing, sports, video games, yugioh, and acquiring unique skills. My Life Verse: Matthew 7:12
Christine Lehn | Family Ministry Associate & Whiz Kids Coordinator Christine@myeastside.cc
Amy Leist | Family Ministry Assistant 513.831.4373×17 Amy@myeastside.cc
Who is Amy Leist, you ask? Well, if I must tell you I am the girl who is almost always smiling. I love to laugh and just have a good time. Hanging with my family and friends and going to the movies are my favorite things to do. And, yes I may be thirty years old but I still consider myself a girl at heart. I have been married to my amazing husband, Craig for nine years this May. We have two beautiful children, Brandon and Ryder. Ryder is our new addition and was born this past December.
Shortly after moving back to Ohio my husband found Eastside one day when he was driving around and told me that we had to go check it out. We went that next Sunday and have been hooked ever since. I have grown up in church my whole life, but I never felt like part of a true church family until I came here.
Our family has attended Eastside the past six years and I have worked on staff as the Family Ministry Admin for the past two. I love my job and could not be more blessed. My Life Verse: 1 John 1:9
Chris Mason| Technical Coordinator Chris@myeastside.cc
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. After high school, I moved to Nashville, TN and went to Belmont University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music Business. In 2004, I went to work on becoming a full time husband and father. I now have a wonderful wife and 3 beautiful girls who are all the center of my world. I have been with the Eastside team since the spring of 2008 and I have loved being involved in every aspect of technology.
Since becoming a Jesus follower I have made it my mission to ensure that the words of truth are heard clearly by all, and that the guitars are turned up way too loud!
Jan Pancheri | Administrative Assistant jan@myeastside.cc
I started attending Eastside April 2004. After 2 years of loving Eastside but not feeling connected, I started volunteering in the church office. Volunteering at Eastside allowed me to meet a host of wonderful people and to come to love each member of the staff. Good thing!!! … as I now find that I have my dream job working at the church I love with a great group of people. Does it get better than that? Only God knows for sure! My Life verse: Psalm 57:7-11
Mary Swingley | Administrative Assistant mary@myeastside.cc
I was born in Bloomington Indiana one of seven children and I was the baby girl. I grew up in a Chrisitian family and we are all very close to one another. In 2004 she and I moved to Cincinnati from “beautiful” central Indiana. I was invited to visit Eastside soon after moving here and have been here ever since. I have made some of the best friends anyone could know here, and I really enjoy being part of the staff. Making a difference by loving people with Christ-in-the-message, does matter to His Kingdom and I love being a part of that at Eastside. My Life Verse: Psalm 91:1

Help Build Hope | Resource Center Needs We have specific needs for food and household items that are provided to families in need within our community. Please check out the needs on our list.
Help Build Hope | Whiz Kids Needs We provide school supplies for children in need within our community. If you can help check out the specific items and see if you can help.
There are families all around us that on any given day are struggling to make ends meet. We want to be a Difference Maker in our community and introduce hope back in to the lives of people in need. We have several programs that we offer to help families who are in need of help.
WHIZKIDS The Whiz Kids program exists to serve at-risk youth through one-to-one, literacy-based tutoring. Currently, there are 46 Whiz Kids tutoring sites serving over 1,100 youth throughout Greater Cincinnati and is in partnership with over 60 elementary schools and 80 churches. Here at Eastside, tutoring sessions are on-campus and last about two hours each week during the school year. Tutors spend time working one-to-one with students on improving their reading. During the campus time they also are provided a hot meal and a fun activity as part of the program.
Why do we offer the Whiz Kids tutoring program? The statistics are bone-chilling. The State of Ohio uses third-grade reading proficiency scores to project future prison capacity. If you dont know how to read by the end of fourth grade, the state is building you a prison cell, says Dr. O’dell Owens, Hamilton County Coroner. According to the U.S. Census, 80 percent of prison inmates are either low-level readers or illiterate.
RESOURCE CENTER Our Resource Center helps provide families with assistance for food, childrens school supplies and additional resources for parents from help building resumes to parenting classes as part of the Whiz Kids program.
HELP BUILD HOPE FOR SENIORS IN CLERMONT COUNTY We work with senior citizens who are living alone typically widows/widowers and need help with minor home repairs and improvements. Our goal when working with a senior in need is to ensure they have a safe, clean home to live in. The results arent in line with Extreme Home Makeover but they make a world of difference in the life of the person whose home is renovated. Projects include adding safety features to the home like hand rails, handicapped accessible bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning maintenance and repair, appliance repair and general living space improvements from new floors to new paint to assistance with cleaning. We even have a team to help with landscaping and general sprucing up of the external parts of the house.
You can now give online through our website. The Online Giving portal is certified safe and secure. We accept Debit and Credit Cards as well as online checks. If you would like to setup your online giving account, or have already set one up and just wish to give, please follow this link:
