"Shinsuikan Dojo" means school of mind like water. This name was inspired by the essay, Mind Like Water, by Takayuki Mikami. Imagine an intellect as calm, a will as relentless and indomitable and a personality as adaptable as water and you will have envisioned a MIND LIKE WATER.*
At Shinsuikan we work to achieve this state through the dedicated practice of Tae Kwon Do/Karate Do, Iaido, and Aikido.
Our classes always stress a "safety first" philosophy. Martial arts can be a life long endeavor when this principle is the number one concern. We provide comprehensive, practical instruction to a wide range of individuals and organizations.
