160 Judicial Posts Decided Tuesday
In Tuesdays general election, Ohio voters selected Justice Maureen OConnor to become the first woman Chief Justice in the 207-year history of the state. Her term will begin on Jan. 1, 2011. Unofficial results also indicate that of the 160 judicial posts on the ballot, 48 seats were contested. Out of that total, six incumbents were defeated.

More than 900 Applicants Pass July 2010 Ohio Bar Exam
The Supreme Court of Ohio Office of Bar Admissions released the results today of the July 2010 Ohio Bar Exam, which was administered in Columbus July 27 through July 29.
The Court ordered appellants in two cases, who had previously filed notices of pending motions to certify a conflict, to show cause within 14 days why the Court should not proceed to consider the jurisdictional memoranda filed in the cases.
