These structures go up fast since the interlocking frame and large posts don't require as much structural material as conventional construction, but still withstands high loads. When trusses are attached to posts, roof detachment is minimized and roof failure is unlikely. The resulting structure with its diaphragm design provides incredible resiliency to high winds, snow loads, and seismic loads.

Construction of barns utilizing truss carriers or girders means the entire roof dead and live load is supported by these carriers rather than the posts. Building span (width), snow load, as well as bottom chord loading is critical when engineering truss carriers for 4'oc and 2'oc designs.
