Cahoon Nursery is a traditional garden center, and we have been serving discerning gardeners from Cleveland's western suburbs since 1948. Our emphasis is on customer service and high quality nursery stock. We offer by far the widest selection of plant material in our area, with hundreds of varieties of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals, and well over 600 varieties of Hosta. We also carry all the related products that contribute to successful gardening...soils, mulches, fertilizers and garden chemicals.
Our key employees have over 200 years of combined experience in the "green industry," and they are ready and able to help customers in any way they can.
Stop by and experience a garden center where plants are still more important than patio furniture.
Cahoon Nursery was established in 1948 by Dr. and Mrs. Schwartz, who had an avid interest in plants and gardening. The nursery at that point was considered to be a small production nursery. In 1959 Dominic Jannazo bought the nursery from the Schwartz’s.
Mr. Jannazo continued operating Cahoon Nursery as a production nursery. In 1970 the state of Ohio acquired 2/3 of the nursery's acreage for the construction of I-90. Because of the reduction of space, the nursery at that time shifted its focus from production to retail sales and became a garden center.
In 1986 Richard Bartsche purchased Cahoon Nursery from Mr. Jannazo, and has continued to operate the nursery as the area's premier "Gardener's Garden Center," with emphasis on customer service and plant selection.
