CALLING ALL KIDS AND TEENS-
It is not too late! Sunday school is in full swing and we would love it if you would join us. Classes meet from 9:45-10:45am for Preschoolers-High School students. Please call 243-1144 if you have any questions. Bring a friend and meet some great new friends here at St. Paul. Please join us!
SUNDAY SCHOOL FOOD DRIVE-
All Sunday School families and members of St. Paul are invited to participate in a special November Food Drive. The Berea Food Bank is asking for donations of food items that can provide a Thanksgiving dinner for those in need. Suggested items are boxed stuffing, gravy in a jar, cans of sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and canned fruit cocktail. Please put your donations in the grocery cart that is outside of the Fellowship Hall. Lets see if we can work together to get our cart to overflow with love and good food to help our neighbors in need.

We will be visiting our Aristocrat friends on November 7th and November 21st. Please join us at 2:00pm in the dining room of the childrens building. We usually play a game such as Bingo, Uno, or Go Fish and extra hands are always appreciated. Please check your calendar and see if you can give one hour to some great kids. You will meet some terrific St. Paul people, too!

From the north take I-71 South to the Bagley Road exit, turn west (right) on Bagley Road, drive 1 mile, the church will be on the left.

Saint Paul church offers a wide variety of liturgical music and has choirs and music groups for all ages. You can choose to attend services with traditional or contemporary music most Sundays.
Contemporary Services in November

Community Meal: In cooperation with other Berea churches offers meals on the last Wednesday of each month to community members. 6:00 PM.

Meals On Wheels: Provides hot meals to members of the general area for a nominal fee.

Pre-School: The Early Education Center provides a quality Christian education for children 3 - 5 years old and offers support and guidance for parents.

WHAT CAN HAPPEN AT WORSHIP
Philosophy scholar Brita Steridahl on Sunday worship: The purpose of worship is not to hear a sermon, to sing a hymn or two. It is something much larger: to come in contact with the world as it is and as we want it to be. Both, and at the same time. Thats why it looks so silly to an outsider who objects to the seemingly easy transition, not knowing that it is not easy at all. It is an ongoing process. Sunday after Sunday after Sunday. It is not a habit; it is discipline and discipleship. In one short hour to moan and to mourn and then to forget oneself and join with joy the others in a mock-up banquet reminding us of bread/hunger, wine/blood, life/death, and resurrection/the hope that defies despair. You dont do that in an hour; the hour only becomes a manifestation of what it takes a lifetime to realize. The hour spent in church is irreplaceable. When I now leave for church on Sunday morning and return an hour and a half later, I can hardly believe such a short time has elapsed. What could I have done in that length of time? Read a little, think somewhat, listen to music, finish a review, prepare a meal, yes. But compared to the cosmic importance and personal engagement that has taken in churchno, it cannot be compared. Church time is eternal.
