2010-11-26 - What do Olivia Portis, Mack Rogers, Jessica Tandy, Art Tatum, Errol Flynn, Benny Goodman, and Al Capp all have in common? They were all born in 1909. Who is Olivia Portis you ask? Olivia is Co-owner Barb Caliman's mother who is celebrating her 101st birthday! Mack Rogers was Olivia's younger brother who shared the same birthday as her. Just for fun, here are some costs of goods in 1909. Apples $.15/bushel, Coffee $.20/lb., House Dress $1.29, and Toilet paper $.05/2 rolls. Congratulations Olivia, we wish you many more wonderful years!
2010-11-11 - If you haven't been by the Funeral Home in the last few months, you should stop by and see what's new. The outside of the building has been painted, we have installed a new walkway, new carpet throughout, and new chairs in the chapel. If you are in the area, stop by and say hello!
2010-10-08 - Caliman Funeral Services was a co-sponsor of the 10th annual Guardian Pastors Appreciation Golf Outing at Foxfire Country Club on October 4th, 2010. Despite the cold weather, fun was had by all! ..... Congratulations to Calimans own Kevin Culp who won a Kroger's Gift Certificate for being closest to the pin on hole #17. Great job Kevin!
