Hardback, vibrant pictures. Kids in jungle- was a frilled lizard, I assume Australia. Overweight boy big round glasses & pith helmet; at one point snake wrapped around him. Glasses were askew, face greenish. Name was Simon? Also girl & at least 1 other boy. Had book in mid-late 70s, maybe early 80s. See More
Lauren Pacini -- Urban Photography November 4 -- 29
Lauren Pacini returns to the Loganberry Books Annex Gallery with selected black and white photographs from three urban-themed collections. The first details "The Death and Rebirth of the Midwest Industrial City," while the second examines the work of "urban artists," whose canvas includes walls, water towers, under-passes, and rock formations. The third is from a collection called "Reflecting on Cleveland." The exhibit of black and white fine art photography focuses on familiar sights which we drive past daily but which we rarely really see. Show continues through November 29.
Now in its third decade, the annual Thanksgiving weekend shopping spree continues on Larchmere Boulevard. Three dozen locally-owned businesses on Larchmere Boulevard, in addition to the artists who comprise Bazaar Bizarre, will welcome the holiday season with good cheer and nostalgic fanfare, food, merriment, live music and excellent indie shopping.
Brian Henke, acoustic guitar virtuoso, will play on Friday and Saturday 12-2pm. This weekend also kicks off the beginning of our Holiday Hours, which will expand to include late nights on Friday as well as Thursday, and Sunday hours 1-4pm. Looking forward to sharing some joyous holiday spirit with you.
Opening Reception: Thursday, December 2, 6-8pm
Dede Moore, a longtime and knowledgeable merchant of oriental rugs, will exhibit antique and new oriental rugs in the Annex Gallery during the month of December. She will also feature lots of ethnic gift items: jewelry, pillows, ceramics, kilim sweaters, shoes and purses. During the Opening Reception, at 7:00pm, Dede will present a powerpoint presentation on Woman’s Work: Oriental Rugs, People and Places. Email Dede at dede@logan.com if you have a particular rug need or request. Show continues through the end of December.
Peggi Cella (vocalist) has moved to Owego, NY, but the band plays on! Please join us as consummate musicians Gene Epstein, Bill Kenney and Seth Rosen strike up some old tunes and make the happy dance in your veins. It's good stuff any time of the year, but especially during the holiday season. Bring the family, we'll mull some cider.
