The Giving Tree is a private behavioral healthcare provider, established in 1982 and serving people primarily in Ottawa, Erie and Sandusky Counties.
At The Giving Tree we offer specialized services for... Youth and families who need help in developing new strategies for achieving healthier communication and relationships. Teens who need help for personal, emotional, school, or family problems. People who are dealing with everyday problems. People with drug and alcohol problems Older adults and their families People with long term mental illness
The caring team of professionals at The Giving Tree includes board certified psychiatrists, psychologist, nurse, licensed counselors, and trained mental health professionals.
The Giving Tree offers three locations in Ottawa County to increase accessibility and reduce the distance people have to travel for service. We offer morning, afternoon and evening hours to fit your schedule. We accept most insurances and Medicaid.
Referrals to The Giving Tree are accepted from community health providers, physicians, school staff, family members and managed care organizations.
The Giving Tree is certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health, Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, and the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
The Giving Tree is a Community Rehabilitation Provider for the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission and an Employment Network for the Ticket To Work program.
The Giving Tree is a contract provider for the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Erie and Ottawa Counties. This funding provides a sliding fee scale based on income and number of dependents for residents of Erie and Ottawa Counties as well as no fee case management, employment and prevention services.
EMERGENCY SERVICEEmergency service is available to anyone who is experiencing a mental, emotional, or alcohol/drug related crisis. Staff are available either through The Giving Tree or Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide assistance to individuals experiencing an emergency situation.
Emergency service are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. by calling The Giving Tree at (419) 734 2942 or (419) 898-0077.
After 5:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays the Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services HOTLINE is available by calling 1-800-826-1306. In the case of a extreme psychiatric crisis the HOTLINE staff will link you with a licensed counselor for crisis intervention/support services.
