SPEAKER: M. Douglas Reed, Ph.D.

Is it a non-problem, created by out-of-date Victorian prudery? Is it a compulsion, an impulse control disorder, OCD, an illness, a bad habit, or harmless fun? How do we diagnose and treat a mental/behavioral condition that does not exist. Dr. Reed will share current theories and approaches for discussion. DSM-IV-TR diagnostic codes will be reviewed. An assessment instrument will be distributed, and a sample treatment approach will be reviewed. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
Dr. M. Douglas Reed, M.A., M.Ed., Ph.D., Master Psychopharmacologist (N.E.I.) Doug has been in clinical practice since 1977. He is President of Dr. Douglas Reed & Associates in Mason, OH (with 7 associates). He is President of the Warren County Forensic Psychology Center, on contract as the Forensic Monitor for Warren and Clinton Counties, and is the Assistant Chief Clinical Officer for the Mental Health Recovery Services Board. Doug has completed over 700 CEUs in psychopharmacology from the International College of Prescribing Psychologists and the Neuroscience Education Institute. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati, teaching for the past 13 years (Addiction Studies) and at Xavier University (MHA program) for 9 years prior to that. He holds numerous Board-Certified Diplomates from four professional associations. He and his wife Judith live in West Chester, OH.
