The Musical Arts Center (MAC) is a community based music school offering the highest quality musical education programs for all ages and ability levels, including: traditonal study of voice, piano, strings, guitar, winds brass & percussion instruments as well as Suzuki programs in violin and piano.
The MAC also offers private and group study in drama, musical theory and sightsinging, seminars and hundreds of hours or master classes and performance opportunities.
The Young Artist's Preparatory program (YAPP) is Cincinnati's premiere youth apprentice program designed for exceptional vocal performers between 11 and 18 years of age (high school sopomores, juniors and seniors) and taught exclusively through the Musical Arts Center. The nine month program is designed to develop and enhance the individual young vocal performner through improvisation, mock auditions, movement, musical preparation, and dramatic interpretation in a small ensemble setting.
Auditions are usually held in late summer. The program begins in October and concludes with an annual showcase in June.
Karl Resnik has been teaching voice since 1973 while he was in graduate studies at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
As a lecturer on singing, he has given workshops and clinics from Alaska to Florida; presented lectures at universities and colleges throughout the United States; and has consulted with organizations such as Paramount Parks, Disney World and Sea World on voice health and voice building issues.
